February 2022 Presentation

This months meeting presented Soon Warren, on Media: Watercolors, Still-Life. Soon was born in South Korea. She immigrated to the United States in 1987. Soon's favorite subjects are those found in nature: people, an animal, trees, a tangerine, pear, oriental poppy, iris or something of intrigue at the moment. Flowers from her gardens often become models.

She says that, "I'm inspired by the beauty and complexity of nature and our surroundings. I try to paint the essence of subjects and my sincere feeling for nature." Since Soon Y. began painting full-time in 1998, she has had many exhibitions and earned numerous awards. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Southern Watercolor Society, the Society of Watercolor Artists, and the Texas Watercolor Society-Purple Sagebrush Society. Her paintings have won awards and were published in 2005 and 2006 competitions sponsored by Watercolor Artist magazine and The Artist's Magazine. She is one of the featured artists in Splash 8: Watercolor Discoveries and Splash 10: Passionate Brushstrokes. Soon Y. is also the author of Vibrant Flowers in Watercolor. www.soonwarren.com
